yet indulges in worldly matters, wrongdoing,
acts of jealousy etc. as soon as he gets away
from that environment. Gita says, such a man
is a self-cheater. Persons like him keep
cheating themselves. God maintains distance
from such people. These people do not
deserve the path of Bhakti and are unable to
derive the real contentment even by following
the course of Bhakti, which they do
ritualistically.
Bhakti, devotion, is not a thing to be
shown off. It is a way of life. Bhakti is a matter
of heart. Bhakti aims at happiness, born of
union with God. The true devotee does not
indulge in showing off. If you get away from
God and the path shown by him, you will be
inviting strife, unrest, and discontent, leading
to worries. tension and confusion. A bad
intention affects mind and body equally. Greed
for money will distance you from your own
