"Atma is never born. It never dies. It is
not being born once and then born again. It
is unborn, ever-lasting, eternal, and existing
since time immemorial. It does not die even
after the death of the body." The man who
aims at procuring all kinds of worldly luxury,
and does not go beyond this material world,
forgets the superior object, atma. He does
not listen to the voice of his soul. He comes
to grief. Devoid of true knowledge, he laments
over the past. It is the knowledge of atma
only which does away with the worldly
sorrows.
