PUBLISHER'S NOTE
"When hope is dumb,
The world says, 'go',
And the grave says, 'come'."
These words were enthusiastically and heroically challenged by
Pandit Guru Datta Vidyarthi, a Vedic research scholar par excellence
and a towering genius. He lit up the lamp of great hope, perused the
Vedas in its light, found the true meaning of the Mantras and thus
made the great scholars of the world dumb who had misinterpreted
the Vedas and regarded them as the shepherd's songs. His work on
the Vedas is like the Pole-star guiding and directing the Vedic
researchers. His name today shines like a jewel on the forehead of
immortality.
Pandit Guru Datta Vidyarthi, a renowned giant of knowledge, so
noble and so promising yet cut off so early, is still with us and will be
remembered and honoured through the ages for his great work in the
field of religious and cultural reform and revival of Indian heritage by
presenting translations, abstracts, reviews and criticism on different
portions of Vedic literature, thereby, proving the Vedaic system as a
philanthropic religion based on scientific knowledge.
This book 'Works of Pandit Guru Datta Vidyarthi' compiled and edited
by Professor Ram Prakash, Department of Chemistry, Panjab
University, Chandigarh, is a complete compilation and contains each
and every available word which flew from the powerful pen of Panditji.
Professor Ram Prakash has undergone a strenuous exertion in
compiling these works scattered in different magazines and volumes
published in nineteenth century at different times. In fact, he, in true
sense, is worthy of my blessings.
Samarpan Shodh Samsthan is feeling itself glorified in publishing
the book as a tribute to the renowned Vedic luminary, Pandit Guru
Datta Vidyarthi and hopes it will help the sincere readers in grasping
the true meaning of the Vedas.
