"I was
not dis-appointed in my expectation of the 23
Indians I examined in 1935, 17 had faultless back, 5 had
back with only small deficiencies, only one was poor. If
conclusion may be drawn from the few cases examined
by me, I must say that Indians stand very high as regards
fine development of trunk and spine. In Berlin I
examined gymnasts from many countries but none of
them reached the same standard as the Indians."
