(23) Yama then gives allurements to Nachiketa as follows:
"Ask for sons and grandsons who may live for hundred years,
mauy cattle (cows, buffalos, bullocks etc.), horses, elephants,
gold and great kingdom of the earth, and you may also ask for
yourself as long a life as you may desire."

you consider this alternative boon as equally good as the afore-
said one, you may ask for wealth and long living and you
