similarly the angry person causes destruction around
him. Do not keep the malice in your heart, it will put
you in the trouble.
29. Do not be so overjoyed in your success that you
become intoxicated with pride. Nor allow the sorrow
to become so deep that it annihilates your heart and
brain. Thank God in happiness, endure the trouble with
bravery, and see in it the justice of the Almighty Judge.
30. He who does not feel pity for the blind, lame, hard of
hearing, dependant, sick, hungry, thirsty, one in
trouble; who never sheds tears of compassion, is not
kind towards crying and shrieking animals, he himself
does not deserve any sort of sympathy. One who on
seeing an ugly, crippled, hunch backed or old and the
creeping person, does not offer help and instead mocks
at them, he is not fit to be called a human being.
31. Intellect is a gift of God. If you have got it, then give
education to the illiterate, but do not see them with
contempt. Tolerate the unreasonableness of the fool.
One does not boast so much with true knowledge as
with foolishness. Think over everything with the
touchstone of the intellect. Always be ready to accept
the truth and discard the falsehood. The fool is always
obstinate and he claims the expertise on every subject,
except on his own foolishness. Ego is worth contempt.
One should continue to improve his intellect with the
help of the wise. Mere useless talk is foolishness.
32. If you are wealthy, thank God for it, and spend your
money in pious deeds. Make an effort to meet the
necessities of the poor, without an element of display.
