Semen starts growing from the age of ten, and is
produced in large quantity by the age of sixteen. All sort of
thoughts arise at that time, and if these are suppressed and
by taking excercise; the semen becomes ripe by the age of
twenty five. With this the foundation of the body gets tough,
and body like the horse becomes strong. The health and
age improves. This is the time for getting married and have
children. Earlier than this, the children are born weak.
In this connection Manu has advised the students to
cast away wine, flesh, fragrance, the garland of flowers,
tasty food, company of women, sour articles, to rub the
limbs, touching urinary organ without reason, use of eye
liner, lust, anger, greed, infatuation, worry, jealousy, enmity,
to see dance & perform it, music, to insult one another, back
biting, to see women, to speak incorrect words, and to
damage others.
Always sleep alone. Should not allow the semen to fall. If
one allows the semen to fall willingly, his abstinence is lost.
Similarly Swami Dayanand Saraswati writes in the third
chapter of 'Light of Truth' that:-
"The obstructions in getting knowledge should be left
out; for example the company of persons fond of sex, use
of wine, sexual intercourse, child marriage, taking excessive
food, excessive awakening, laziness and dishonesty in
reading, writing and examination, not to understand the
importance of abstinence for the strength of intellect, health
etc., to meditate on others instead of worship of God etc."
An indication is enough for the wise. Those who
understand it, will be happy on growing old; others will
repent and will say that we should have followed the advice.
