To go after the desire, is equivalent to loosening of the
rein; and to control the desire, and fulfil good desire, but to
reject a bad desire amounts to following the intellect.
In the same way, good conduct in the day to day
dealings, and to give the same treatment to others as we
anticipate for ourselves; is following the dictate of the
intellect. To treat others in a rough manner just in the
interest of our selfishness, is like obeying the mind. For
those wishing to follow the path of goodness and piety,
some suggestions are given below:-
15. Modesty is the ornament for both men and women, To
like oneself is ego, to praise one's own intellect and
deeds, to consider one's opinion as superior, flattery,
hatred towards the poor, arrogance on subordinates,
to expect admiration from others, of one's looks and
dress, become a cause for mockery.
16. The heart of a jealous person is full of malice and ill
will. He cannot tolerate the praise of others and
grumbles in oneself. If you want to become great, then
put forth the ideals of great men and follow them. Mind
gets elevated by adopting the good deeds.
17. A talkative person is troublesome for the society. His
ears tire with the rotten talk, but not he himself. He
becomes lowly with his bragging, and considering
himself as an expert in every field. A fool does not
give rest to his tongue.
18. To instigate somebody, making a mockery of him, to
laugh at a blind, lame or an ugly person, to taunt every
body; lead to obstruction in one's own well being.
