19. Firmness of the mind is the first element of Dharama.
Bravery and self satisfaction strengthen the heart. Not
to abandon one's principles at the time of trouble and
difficulty is bravery. Whatever God gives as a result
of our effort, to be satisfied on that and to remain happy
in all situations is patience. Sorrow, ill luck and loss
always chase a man. It is thus better from the very
beginning, to strengthen one's heart with courage and
patience. A brave person looks at the destiny with
disgust. Don't be impatient and sorrowful by enhancing
your desires. God will give you a reward as per your
deeds, and does not fulfil so many of your desires in
your own interest.
20. Forgiveness is the second element of Dharama. If
someone commits a crime unknowingly, a subordinate
commits a mistake, some fool insults you; not to be
angry inspite of having the authority to do so; means
forgiveness. With this the anger causing turmoil in the
brain and boiling of the blood become calm. The body
becomes light, health improves and one is happy.
21. The third element of Dharama is self control. One sage
has said that it is not possible to get true happiness
without the health, wisdom and the peace of mind; and
these things do not become available to an amorous
person, Pull the rein of the mind, when the sexuality
spreads the articles of lust, bends one to the colourful
objects of enjoyment, wine, flesh and shows a glimpse
of sex. Do not be entangled in a dubious path. Exercise
is the father of health and the self control is its mother.
